In the Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA), the utmost importance must be placed on effective personal grounding (shoe-to-floor system) through the use of appropriate ESD footwear, which serves to protect sensitive electronic components by continuously dissipating charges away from the original wrist strap. The overall basis for this is DIN EN 61340-5-1. Our ESD shoes are, of course, certified according to DIN EN IEC 61340-4-3:2018 for Climate Class 1. This achieves significant reductions in potential sources of danger, particularly in light of the current supply chain challenges regarding the procurement of microprocessors and additional hidden costs in production processes. In addition, our EPA solution supports use in sensitive production facilities to define a customized analysis for finding solutions.
Electrostatic discharge
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) refers to the equalization of large potential differences, which causes high-voltage pulses.
Under certain circumstances, this voltage pulse can damage or even destroy components.
We are constantly expanding our range of ESD shoes and are continuously addressing the following situations:
What actually happens during the production of highly sensitive components?
What static charges are still present among the employees at
despite the extensive ESD measures that have been implemented?
Monitoring of employees in the workplace, measured in volts.
